Feel the wind, ride the waves

Thanks to its sheltered location between the IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea, the Amstelmeer offers ideal conditions for all levels. The water warms up quickly, stays relatively calm, and yet offers just the right challenge.

Windsurfers love the flat water for speed. Kiters have their own separate launch zone a bit further up. Foilers and wingfoilers glide effortlessly. And if you prefer to cruise calmly across the surface, a SUP board is perfect for you.

Never set foot on a board before? No worries! At Lutjestrand, there’s a friendly and professional surf school offering lessons in windsurfing, kitesurfing, winging, foiling and SUP. No equipment? No problem — rentals are available too.

Next to the surf beach is a sheltered area for families with kids. There's a shallow water zone, playground equipment, and a laid-back beach café called Beach Bites — the perfect place to refuel with your toes in the sand.

From the campsite to the water

Camping Terra Incognito is just a 7-minute walk or short bike ride from the water. Many guests bring their own gear, but rentals are easy to arrange. From the campsite, you can also take beautiful bike rides along the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer, or through the green countryside of North Holland.
